Celebration of Mother Language Day
Subject: Matter of celebration of Mother Language Day on 21/02/2021. Reference: In respect of the above subject and context, the Government of India has stated that Mother Language Day has been declared by UNESCO on 21/02/2021.
According to a letter from the Government of India involved, a virtual celebration of Mother Language Day is planned across the country. Pursuant to that, in all the offices under your jurisdiction as well as in schools (Std. 1 to 12), you are required to give necessary instructions from your level to carry out the activities as indicated in the instructions given in the accompanying Government of India letter and also to organize Mother’s Day celebrations.
In addition, as stated in the letter of the Government of India, the celebration will be held in virtual mode through a webcast from 21/02/2021 to 23/02/2021, the leak of which is shown in the letter of the Government of India. With that in mind, you will give the necessary instructions from your level to participate in the virtual celebration of Mother Language Day.
Celebration of Mother Language Day
As you are aware, 21 * February, has been declared as International Mother Language Day by UNESCO in 1999. Every year, all the higher educational institutions/schools across the country are advised to organize various activities like Elocution, Debating, Singing, Essay Writing and Painting competitions, Music and Dramatic performances, Exhibitions etc.
However, this year, the Matribhasha Diwas is being celebrated jointly by the Ministries of Education and Culture as Webinar from 21 to 23 February 2021 and the inaugural function will be held on 21 “February 2021 through virtual mode.
Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank”, Hon’ble Education Minister feels that participation of students from all the Higher Educational institutions, JNU, AICTE, Kendriya Vidyalayas, CBSE, students under NIOS in the Matribhasha desires Diwas celebrations make the students to understand the importance of the Mother As such, that this information should be disseminated to all the students studying in the State Universities, Private Universities and schools in every state.
The inaugural function of the Matribhasha Diwas will be conducted on 21.02.2021 from 11.00 AM to 12.00 Noon in which Shri Venkalah Naidu, Hon’ble Vice President of India will be the Chief Guest of the occasion and Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank”, Hon’ble Education Minister, Sh Prahlad Singh Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State Education shall be Guest of Honor. Matribhasha Diwas and also to advise ail the schools/institutions under your administrative control students in those schools etc to participate in the Webinar. This may be kindly intimated to all the Universities and Schools in the State with a request to pass it on to the students and ensure their participation in the inaugural function.
