Classification of computers: Commuters vary in size and purpose.  There are computers that can hold the whole room, from computers that can be carried in a small box.  These commuters are used in large organizations, government and private organizations and more and more homes.  

Organizations use computers for a variety of uses, from scientific to commercial.  The most widely used computers are called personal commuters (PCs) that can usually be placed on a table.  Depending on the type of activity that computers can perform, they can be classified as follows: Analog commuter) 

These commuters can measure physical space i.e. temperature, quantity, pressure etc. and convert it into numerical values.  For example, a thermometer does not calculate but measures body temperature by expanding the mercury in it.  Analog computers are used for scientific and engineering purposes.  

Digital commuters: These commuters handle digital data and perform its 5 mathematical and logical functions. Digital commuters can store a wide variety of data sets and instructions so they can be used in a variety of applications.  

Types of digital commuters: Today’s commuters range from the type that can occupy an entire room to the size of a small notebook.  Criters can be divided into the following types based on their size and their compression (speed), storage capacity etc.
