Thus, many people in the middle class and upper middle class today eat more than the body needs as a result the stomach grows or the whole body grows. Fatty substances (oil, ghee, etc.) are used in large quantities in food. Consumption of salt has increased significantly.
Many people put 1. 5 to 2 times more salt in their stomach every day than the body needs! Consumption of fibrous substances such as fresh vegetables, fruits and pulses has declined. Along with all these changes in diet, there was an increase in machinery, a decrease in physical labor, an increase in mental anxieties, an increase in addictions and all these resulted in an increase in diseases.

Society today is suffering the consequences of development and unhealthy lifestyle. Due to their unhealthy eating habits and genetic makeup, the Indian people and even Gujaratis today easily fall prey to diseases like heart disease.
Many of us today are unaware or unacceptable that our food harms our body and very little of what we accept can make the necessary changes to health, a recent study shows. Fats and saturated fats increase in diet, and beneficial fats such as monounsaturated and linolenic acid decrease.
Thus, as education and prosperity increase, so does the question of unhealthy foods responsible for diseases such as heart disease and cancer. Researchers from around the world have found that the healthiest foods to prevent heart disease are the poor man’s traditional low-fat, oily foods. Of course, there are more benefits to eating more vegetables, fruits and pulses with less ghee and oil.
The main constituents of food ‘energy’ comes from the main components of food such as carbohydrates, fats and proteins which are measured in calories. The main function of proteins is not to give energy but to build the body.
Not all of these components (vitamins, salts, etc.) provide energy but are essential for the body’s uninterrupted metabolic process and to protect the body from disease. Vitamins, salts, metals, etc. are essential for the effective use of energy-giving ingredients and for many physiological processes in the body.
Many extracts work only in the presence of certain salts – metals or vitamins. Fiber is very useful for normal bowel function as well as for slow digestion of sugar and cholesterol. Anti-oxidant elements protect the body from daily oxidation.
