The state government decided to give Diwali gifts and expensive allowances to government employees

Diwali Gift to State Government Officers / Employees / Pensioners More than Nine Lakh Officers / Employees of State Government – Pensioners will be given the benefit of 50% arrears out of the arrears of Expensive Allowance: Deputy Chief Minister Shri Nitinbhai Patel 

 Panchayat employees as well as pensioners got benefits to a total of 961638 employees: Rs.  An additional cost of Rs. 464 crores will be incurred.  

The state government had decided to provide5% inflation allowance from 201601/07/2019.  This dearness allowance is being paid with salary every month from January 2020. From 01.07.2019 to 31.12.2019, the difference of the total 6 months dearness allowance was to be paid to the state employees and pensioners.  

Mr. Patel said that in consultation with the Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani, the officers/employees/pensioners will be able to celebrate Diwali well.  It has been decided to pay the difference of three months dearness allowance to the pensioners before the Diwali festival in view of the current Diwali festivities. This will impose a total burden of Rs.464crore on the state government  How many pensioners will get the benefit of this.

The state government has given gifts to the employees before the Diwali festivities. The state government has announced the remaining dearness allowance to the employees of the organization receiving government grants, including employees and officials. Announcing this, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said that the allowance was to be paid for 6 months from September 1, 2019, but the government postponed the payment due to the decline in government revenue due to Corona.

But now that all activities have resumed, the revenue of the state government has increased. Nitin Patel said government employees were owed a total of 6 months’ dearness allowance. Out of which current 3 months dearness allowance will be paid. On the other hand, the state government has also announced a bonus of up to Rs 3,500 for Class 4 employees.

The amount will be credited to the account before Diwali.
