Happy New Year to all. After the Diwali vacation, GCERT, Gandhinagar will again take a step forward by putting questions in Mathematics, Science, Social Science as well as Language. According to which the questions of this week’s series are included in the following link. Teachers who have such basic questions in the feedback form can also send us these questions. You are requested to reach out to all the primary and secondary school teachers in your district and they are interested to send answers to these questions online. Director – GCERT, Gandhinagar

Ek Kadam Agal GCERT

Dear teacher friends. You are constantly striving to integrate classroom learning into everyday life and increase curiosity in students. To strengthen your efforts, we are offering you higher Order Thinking Skills (IHOTS) questions every week. It is hoped that through these questions you will increase students’ logical, analytical, scientific and mathematical thinking. The process of discussing these questions and finding solutions to them will help the students to find solutions to the problems, so you are requested to go through this process and only then discuss the solutions.

Week 52

The following paragraph is taken from an interview about the discovery of new frog species posted on the blog. Today we are publishing seven new species of nocturnal frogs in the Western Ghats, India’s hottest biodiversity hotspot.
Thee article describes the discovery of seven species of frogs, usually known as nocturnal frogs and belonging to the genus Nikitibaitrachus. These species are known as the smallest species of Indian frog. To learn a little about the role of this study, we visited Sonali Garg of Peer’s Blog. He essentially discussed the diversity of the short forms of this lineage, the dangers of such field work, the notable quarrels with elephants, etc. in a surprising way.
Coworkerr: Can you tell me a little bit about yourself? I did my Ph.D. at Delhi University. Am a student of [Systematic Laboratory, Department of Environmental Education], where I met Dr. S. D. I am doing research under the guidance of another. My work focuses primarily on the systematic and nuclear genealogy of the Western Ghats frogs with the goal of understanding existing biodiversity, evolutionary relationships, forms of diversity, geographic division. I am currently compiling statistics from my five years of research.
Coworkerr: Can you briefly describe the research you have published with your coworkers? Our lab works on this group and Pro. The group, along with other colleagues, described 13 new species in 2011. Last year we reported on the humorous condition of frogs in Mumbai. Night frogs and other findings were published by colleagues.
Inn our latest study we described seven other species of nocturnal frogs. Surprised by the large variety of miniature forms, perhaps due to its extremely small form, neglected due to its secret habitats on Earth and being an insect, we have used integrated evidence of external morphology for molecular as well as biostatics data to identify new species.
Fourr of them are the youngest known Indian frogs. (Length 12.2–15.4 mm). Unlike other large frogs in the genus, which are adapted to live in forest springs, which have a large foot grip and make loud noises, the new small frogs are very different insects, lack grip between the toes and are in the litter of wet leaves. That is found in the mud. This is a very interesting aspect for further investigation.
Coworker – Do you have any issues with this research? Sonali Garg – On one occasion, after many hours of extensive research, we discovered a male species of small frog. We were so excited to record this scene that we overlooked the two loud noises of a nearby elephant. Eventually, we escaped and had to run for life without frogs or frog calls.
I have had many occasions where locals have experienced skepticism. When they see a young woman with men at night in the ‘shady places’ of agricultural fields and urban forest areas. Use the information above about research on frogs for answers to the following questions.
