These committees and commissions have emphasized the importance of vocational education to increase individual employment and national productivity.  The Kothari Punch Report of Education (1964-66) considered the Work Experience Program (WEP) for participating in school, home, workshop, farm, factory, or any other manufacturing work.
 
 
  Insisting on a work experience program that involves purposeful and meaningful physical work that is an essential component at all stages of education.  These learners should have respect for physical work, values ​​of self-reliance, co-worker expression, support, work ethic, attitude, and motivation for productive work and social values.

The Work Experience Program was designed for Std 1 to 8 with the objective of cultivating the right attitude towards work, developing the right work values ​​and habits, imparting the necessary knowledge related to work, and developing the right work skills that can help children become self-reliant and support their families.  And can be helpful in meeting the needs of society.
 
 The 10-year school curriculum-framework prepared by NCERT in 1976 emphasized work experience as an important part of the school curriculum which has been implemented in the country along with guidelines.  Work experience was later renamed as Social Useful Productive Work (SUPN) by Ishwarbhai Patel Samiti (1977).
 
  It described physical activity in a meaningful and purposeful way.  As a result, tools or services are useful to society.  It was suggested that students can choose various vocational education activities such as weaving, gardening, cooking, painting, carpentry and other crafts.  There are many reasons for this, such as, Not allocating enough time in school schedule, not testing courses, insufficient financial funds, shortage of trained teachers and lack of raw material
