The Government of Gujarat has always strived to improve the quality of primary education. The role and work of the State Government in respect of projects like Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Madhyahan Bhojan Yojana, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan and implementation of the Right to Education Act has been commendable.
It is only through the efforts of the State Government that a very good achievement has been achieved in enrollment and 1.2.0 stabilization at the primary education level. The Government of Gujarat has initiated a series of measures affecting the quality of education imparted to students to achieve visible and measurable positive change in improving the educational standard of schools across the state.

Quality primary education, concern about educational outcomes, responsibility and sensitivity of the teaching community (teachers) as well as active participation of the society, all these factors have led to improvement in the level of education.
The special state-wide school enrollment drive – ‘School Entrance Ceremony’ – has seen an increase in the number of students enrolling in schools. In addition, various initiatives such as CM’s Kanya Kelvani Nidhi, Vidya Lakshmi Bond Yojana, Vidya Deep Yojana, recruitment of teachers and principals, and construction of infrastructures in schools by building commuter labs, school rooms and sanitation blocks have been successfully implemented.
At this stage it was realized that school access and school improvement efforts alone were not enough. Meaningful quality education is essential for the further success of students in the classroom. Lack of qualitative education results in poor academic results at every level of education which is a major challenge in education.
Going beyond all these achievements, the aim of this mindset is to focus on quality issues. There is a need to focus on this raw material that remains in quality education with a sense of responsibility and greater social participation with awareness of quality education. To this end, the Government of Gujarat has launched an annual assessment program ‘Gunotsav’ for all schools. is coming .
The ‘Gunotsav’, a celebration of quality education, was started by the Government of Gujarat in 2009 as a unique program of ‘Student-School Evaluation at a Large Level’, covering all government primary schools, ashram schools and grant-in-aid schools in all districts of the state. In addition to covering students there is an aspect of the remedial education campaign involved.
Attendance of students and teachers in all primary schools in the state is taken online by the state government. The basic purpose of online attendance is to ensure the attendance of students as well as teachers in the school. A total of two criteria have been formulated to test this sub-sector to determine whether the things considered under attendance are being properly implemented in the school.
the second major area under merit 2.0 is school-related. this sector includes an initiative to ensure the attendance of online students adopted by the state government since last year which has been accepted as a sub-sector. apart from this, school management and school safety issues have also been adopted as sub-sectors under this sector. a total of 7 standards under this main area will be tested under the criteria/standards. which has 37 indicators.
Schools are generally concerned with their physical facilities and implement their plans accordingly. Educational planning is as important to the school as physical perspective. In addition, the school development plan prepared by the school needs to be implemented properly.
It is necessary to review the school development plan from time to time keeping in view the challenges posed by the implementation of the school development plan as well as its future implications. The purpose of verifying the above matters is kept under this criterion.
This is done to find out what is available in the school and what is needed to make a school development plan. The primary assessment is the baseline assessment.
School Management Committee Under the Right to Education Act – 2009, the school level has been asked to form a school management committee to ensure the development of the school. The school management committee assists the school in its day-to-day operations.
The role of the school management committee in preparing the school development plan is special. An active and effective school management committee is very much needed to ensure the progress of the school. Therefore, the objective is to test the active participation of the School Management Committee in the school programs at the school level under these criteria.
