We are going to discuss the issue of safety and security within the school that affects young (adolescent) children.  And in which efforts are made to provide a safe environment for children by providing them safety inside and outside the school. 

 As a parent or teacher, our efforts should always be towards ensuring road safety, prevention and management of violence and harassment, safe use of internet and media as well as disaster management.  But the question is, how is that possible?

Yes, when to stop?  Crossing the road by sight, not running on the roads, listening attentively to other vehicles approaching, always on the side of the road, walking on pedestrian cussing or zebra crossing, never crossing the road on a bend, never reaching out to the outside of the vehicle, etc. 

Violence and harassment are the second most important but not the biggest security threat.  First of all, let’s understand what it is.  Violence and harassment is an activity that harms another person who is subjected to violence and harassment.  

It can be of any form from emotional violence, sexual harassment, physical violence, corporal punishment, bullying, etc.  Children need to be taught this and in case of violence, there is an urgent need for the child to be well prepared and persuaded to seek the help of other people, various services, and organizations.
