NMMS National Means Cum Merit Scholarship EXAM

Telling a story to children is an art.  Come on in, take a look and enjoy yourself!  Sadly, the first two standard of our primary schools do not ring the bell every day to tell a story.  If there was such a system, the problem of keeping children in school would be solved to some extent.

A lot of people will think I don’t understand how serious the problem of child absence is.  Listening to my suggestion, it is very likely that higher officials will make sarcastic remarks.  Their vast experience and administrative knowledge has washed away from their minds the understanding that, according to my understanding, they will once have, that listening to a story has a magical effect on children.  It is also unfortunate that our teacher training institutes do not take storytelling seriously.

However, some of them need to mention the importance of storytelling in their own curriculum.  Every teacher who teaches young children is expected to have at least 30 traditional stories in their possession.  By the word “right” I mean that the teacher remembers the stories so well that he can tell them with confidence and comfort.

This is not a big deal for a society with an ancient tradition of thousands of stories. 30 stories that the teacher can tell whenever he wants.  Maybe, the first two standard of primary school will change the environment. The condition is that storytelling should be given a dignified place in the daily curriculum – because storytelling is very important.

Where to bring stories? In the previous paragraph, I  The adjective was used, before proceeding, to clarify it.I wrote that I am in favor of traditional stories. My experience of training young teachers to tell a story says that when they are suggested to find a story they are often printed in current papers or children’s magazines  Some bring comics, long jokes, or descriptions of real events.

It’s true that this kind of stuff is considered talk.  We can’t expect stories to have a magical effect on six- or seven-year-olds in elementary school.  The stories given by tradition have some features that are contemporary stories that we see in different forms in different mediums.  There is no justification.-LLF training module.
