PRASHAST Mobile App Disability Screening Checklist. All disability conditions are not visibly identifiable. Given the lack of a uniform Disability Screening Checklist for Schools that covers the 21 disabilities as per the RPWD Act 2016 and acting on the vision of NEP 2020, NCERT has developed the Disability Screening Checklist for Schools and a mobile app PRASHAST i.e. “Pre Assessment Holistic Screening Tool” for schools.
PRASHAST app will help for school based screening of 21 disability conditions recognized in RPwD Act 2016, and generate the school-level report, for further sharing with the authorities for initiating the certification process, as per guidelines of Samagra Shiksha – a flagship integrated program for school and teacher education under the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
NCERT has created PRASHAST (Pre-Assessment Holistic Screening Tool) Mobile App to initiate the process of early identification of children with disabilities with the help of which early identification to mainstream such children, FLN program can be intensified to prevent dropout.
Physical disabilities are easily identifiable. But children with learning disabilities are not easy to identify at an early stage. Using the app mentioned here 21 disabilities mentioned in RPwD Act, 2016 can be identified and through remedial education these children can be assisted in the curriculum and incidence of drop out can be reduced.
For which proper training is available for BRC, CRC, Principal, teachers, special teachers and other supporting staff, NCERT has organized a live training on YouTube on 28th, 29th & 31st March 2023 at 11:00 AM which link is as follows.
