 The drug is manufactured by DRDO’s Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences in collaboration with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories.  According to DRDO, this drug corrects oxygen deficiency in patients.  Apart from this, after the use of this medicine, 2-3 days are discharged in the hospital, that is, it will reduce dependence on the hospital.  Therefore, this drug is also being called a game changer.

 The special thing is that this drug is effective on patients with mild, moderate and severe all three types of symptoms.  All types of patients benefited from this trial and did not see any serious side effects.  It is a safe medicine.

 DRDO reported that 42% of the patients who were given this drug in the third phase of the clinical trial of this drug did not need oxygen in the third day.  Apart from this, in the patients who were given medicines under the prescribed standard of treatment, ie Standard of Care (SoC), the figure was 31%.  The corona symptoms of the patients also decreased after giving the medicine.  In addition, heart rate (pulse rate), blood pressure, fever, and breathing rate, on average 2.5 days earlier than other patients, were cured.

 The DRDO did not announce the price of the drug.  But this drug is generic, so it will not be very expensive.  According to media reports, this drug can be between 500-600 rupees.  The government may also provide some subsidy in this.  However, Dr. Reddy’s Lab will decide on the cost of the drug.

 This drug is a substrate of glucose.  However, it is made in a synthetic way.  But its production is easy.  There is no problem in the availability of raw materials to make this medicine.  It is available in sufficient quantity.

 The drug can come in the market in a few days.  Initially, its 10,000 doses can be lowered.  Not only this, this medicine will be given to patients in about half a dozen hospitals of the country from this week.
