Humans are always curious to know about the environment around them.  Careful observation of the physical and biological environment creates a meaningful structure and relationship.  Understanding the world based on observation. 
 There has been an attempt to formulate an imaginary model and, through it, to reach the rules and basic principles.  This endeavor of man is science.  Science is dynamic that expands the horizons of knowledge by covering new experiences.  Science is an organized system of knowledge based on investigation arising from natural curiosity with logic and experimentation.

In a progressive society, science frees people from the shackles of poverty, ignorance and superstition.  Mankind today is facing a rapidly changing world where the most important skills are change ability, innovation and creativity.  This requirement should be kept in mind to mold the teaching of science.  True science education is good for a student’s life and discipline.  
Curriculum expectations at upper primary level: At upper primary level the child sees science as a subject for the first time.  At this stage, science transitions from the study of the environment at least in the primary stage to the basic element of science and technology.  At this stage, science should be chosen to teach concepts that help in understanding everyday life. Experiments and activities should become an integral part of the teaching-learning process.
The concept of science at the upper primary level should not be governed by a disciplined approach.  At this stage science should be taught as an integrated subject.  The child should be taught the principles of science through known experiences as well as through simple activities, through simple and industrial models.  
Care should be taken to learn more about the environment and health, including reproductive and sexual hygiene.  The scientific concept comes mainly from observations, activities, experiments and surveys.  Group activities, discussions with colleagues, teachers and community members, surveys, retrieving and managing information, organizing school exhibitions, etc. are important parts of science education.  
The science curriculum should include technical components such as the design and design of simple statues, practical knowledge of electrical appliances and mechanical devices used in practice, and local specific technology.
